Stamford Tyres (M) Sdn Bhd host lucky winning dealers in a trip of a lifetime to watch Liverpool FC in actionDestination Anfield
For most Malaysian die-hard Liverpool FC fans, the chance to watch their team live in action probably comes once in a lifetime.
That dream came true recently for four lucky grand prize winners thanks to Stamford Tyres (M) Sdn Bhd, distributors of the Falken Tyres brand in Malaysia.
The four lucky winners were Mr Lim Kong Ping, Ms Loh Poh Tin, Mr Alvin Seah Peng Ngee, and Mr Jimmy Bong Soon Meng.
They were selected at random by Stamford Tyres (M) Sdn Bhd from a pool of entries submitted during a special Falken Tyres campaign held from March to August 2018.
Opened to all Malaysians who purchased brand new Falken Tyres through authorised retailers, the campaign was also aligned with the leading tyre brand’s status as the official partner to the world-famous club.
The campaign’s grand prize was of course an all-expenses paid trip to the UK to watch Liverpool FC, or fondly referred to as ‘The Reds’ by their legion of fans, play an English Premier League match in Anfield Stadium, their home ground, against Manchester United on Dec 16. Besides that, the trip also included brief sightseeing tours of Liverpool and Anfield Stadium.
The 9-day trip kicked off on Dec 13. Winners, guests and Stamford Tyres (M) Sdn Bhd representatives were flown into Manchester, from Kuala Lumpur via Doha by Qatar Airways. Besides travelling costs, lodging was also paid for, as well as sightseeing activities around Liverpool.
The four grand prize winners aside, Stamford Tyres (M) Sdn Bhd also took the initiative to host 17 dealer representatives on the trip as part of their famed dealer incentive initiatives.
Present here too were several key executives from Stamford Tyres (M) Sdn Bhd. Amongst them were President Mr Wee Kok Wah who was accompanied by his wife. Besides them, Executive Vice President and CEO Mr Cham Soon Kian, Sales Assistant Manager (Truck) Mr Chiang Chia Heng and Sales personnel Mr Ku Seng Yeow we’re present on this trip too.
Back to the trip and the highlight of which came on Day 4. Things kicked off with a pre-game tour of Anfield Stadium itself early on in the day. As if seeing the home of The Reds and what goes on behind the scenes just before a match wasn’t enough, tickets and hospitality to watch the match that ensued later on the same day was perhaps the icing on the cake for all in attendance.
As it turned out, Liverpool FC seized the opportunity to score a stunning 3-1 win over their long-time arch rivals Manchester United in an unforgettable match.
If anything, it made the trip a truly memorable one for the four lucky winners. Who would’ve thought that by simply buying tyres, they had scored themselves a trip of a lifetime, seeing their favourite team win a home match against their arch-rivals.
The same goes for the dealer representatives hosted by Stamford Tyres (M) Sdn Bhd during this trip. It was an equally memorable experience for them too.
